Well, it's a good thing that the man I might be planning on killing isn't a dedicated brother to a religion that the enormous military organization is a branch of, that this organization isn't funded by the faithful of said religion, and that the woman that you are requesting me to ask wasn't at one point the left hand for the leader of that very religion. And I thank the Creators that this death will be immediately helpful to the Inquisition, and has no possibility of casting a dubious light on them.
[ Once again she is CRUELLY COERCED by the nefarious shemlen. ]
I--I guess this is as good of a time as any, but. I have something to ask you, as well. It's, ah. Not as important--well, I mean, it's important to me, but.
[ Shit. This is going badly. Okay. Just concentrate, and calmly explain yourself. ]
[ Beleth takes the pause to 1) Realize she fucked that up 2) Plan how to explain she didn't mean it like that, 3) Cry, maybe?
She hasn't actually gotten to that third part when Alistair speaks, and now she's the one who has to pause to try to wrap her head around what he just asked. ]
Why, in the Creator's names, would she do that? And how--?
My mother is a mage, but I assure you that I have never seen her turn into a dragon. But--
[ She has to sputter a little. No, Alistair, she just wants you to steal her grimoire, goodness. ]
Have any of the others said anything...malevolent about the Keeper!? Why would I want you to kill my own mother? No, I--wanted your help saving her. And the rest of the clan.
Don't ask me. I've never asked anyone to kill my mother—
[ But oh. ]
Oh.
Well that's entirely different. Sure, of course. When? Now? Are you talking about swiftly rising floodwaters or the slow deterioration [ he reads, he knows words ] of your culture orrr...
[ Does she want to know? Signs point to: absolutely not. She clears her throat loudly instead. ]
While the cultural deterioration is certainly an issue, and I'd be happy to accept any solutions to it you happen to be keeping in your back pocket, that isn't what my focus is on, for now. The Keeper, and my clan, have gotten trapped by some rifts. They can kill the demons, but without a way to seal the rift, more continue to appear. They can't move the noncombatants, nor the halla and the aravels. And they're worryingly close to a village. We've traded with the village before, and relations are...decent. They've made no threats, but the sooner my clan can leave, the better for everyone.
And, ah. We don't really have a lot of warriors. So your addition would be welcome.
I changed my mind, you're insufferable. [ She says, fondly. ]
But, seriously. I would appreciate it, though it is certainly not required. I just--Returning to the clan will be, ah. Well. It will be nice to have friends. [ If just to witness her last will and testament before her mother shames her into the next world. ]

Because that would be really awkward.

[ But he's laughing. ]
Just talk to her.

--Do you want to meet my mother?
[ Nailed it. ]

[ Obviously. ]
I'll take that as a 'probably not.' Will you, at any point, ask me to kill her?
