Beleth's Gallows Bedroom

[For imagery] (to evoke the general feel, if not the exact appearance of the room)

Beleth, as Scoutmaster, has the privilege to have one of the nicest, and largest bedrooms in the Gallows. Her windows are generally kept open, and light gauze is draped over them, presumably to discourage bugs from wandering in through the window. The bottom of the drapery is folded up and sewn, to create a little pocket that contains dried and perfumed flowers. Hanging off of them are little threads of beads, both for decoration, and to help keep the drapes weighed down.

There's a sturdy desk, simple but practical, that always seems to have a few papers scattered over it, and some of the trinkets sent to her by her twin--bits of antler, carved wood, simple but unmistakably of Dalish origin. The top of the dresser has been devoted to Beleth's preferred specialty, an alembic and various other tools of potion-making scattered across it.

The brazier does a satisfactory job of lighting and warming the room, and the only other note that could be made of it is that there is a small bowl of fragrant dried herbs next to it. Throwing some of the herbs into the brazier's fire will elicit a similarly fragrant smell wafting around the room--a set up deemed necessary, perhaps, by the potion-making instruments so close by.

The bed is moderately nice, not too ostentatious, but Beleth has allowed herself some luxury when it comes to the piece of furniture that she will spends hours sleeping on. The bedspread is quite pretty, clearly made to Dalish taste, with a large tree embroidered on it, vines wrapping around it.

The last piece of furniture in her room is a bookshelf. There's a decent number of books, mostly history but a few novels are there (and even some romance novels! gasp), but the rest of the shelving space is dedicated to displaying more trinkets, as well as jars of various dried plants, and vials of liquids. None of it is labeled, but it'd probably be a bad idea to experiment with it.

The walls have a couple charcoal sketches--someone from the Ashara clan may be familiar with Sorrel's artwork--and a piece of colorful fabric hanging up, in an effort to add some color to the room.

Overall, the room is fairly peaceful, with a definite feel of nature, and very Dalish. It's clear that Beleth is trying to surround herself with what comforts of home she can, keeping her beloved clan close to her heart.
